I have to disagree with the 90's nostalgia trip thing. I loved the man from uncle and all the rest of it, but I distinctly remember television being as mind-blowingly dull as it is now, just without all this putrid 'viewer choice' iplayer hair gel T4 spunk splash that we get on top of all the other stuff. There's no doubt 90's telly was a bit more anarchic and/or weird, but it pales in comparison to the Japanese death porn we can choose to watch on the internet nowadays. Telly's just pretty rubbish and it always has been, it's merely damage limitation for most programmes, as in which show will bore you the least. But that won't stop me watching it, they'll always be the Fast Show and the like, but never do I remember thinking at any point in my life - 'hey, TV's great right now! I'm so pleased my interests are so satisfyingly catered for!'
