JAPANESE JAZZ OPERA

Amazing stuff.

A high concept Japanese TV musical/opera set in an unidentifiable historical period -  which looks like either a 1980's rendition of the 19th century, or a  19th century imagining of the 1980's - that skips through all the greatest hits of Jazz.

I really enjoyed the lady emerging from a huge egg  giant leafy arse to Thelonious Monk's Misterioso at around 1:46.

It gives a surreal easy listening feel to pieces of music that otherwise may not be the accessible to listen to, like an episode of Look & Read taking six year olds through excerpts of Immanuel Kant.

Watch it all!

Waltz For Debby was a particularly tender moment.
