Amateur night at the Harlem Apollo has a famously hard to please crowd. Most acts get booed off in seconds. So it is interesting in a kind of cabaret version of 8Mile when white acts get an applause, but to be honest most of the ones that do are shit.
So above you have New kids on the block lip syncing the right stuff before they became superstars. Whats funny about this video is that Donnie and Jordan supposedly cried backstage because the Apollo crowd liked them.
Or this guy, who just plays the horn for a second and then does the splits badly.
But in the case of Von Von Von I totally understand why the crowd goes nuts. I agree with the crowd on this one. Von is the illest!

Some mook films a pre-fame NKOTB at the Apollo but nobody thought it was a good idea to have a camera there when Ice Cube (aka the biggest rapper on the planet at the time) when he did his legendary 1990 Apollo show where he revealed he'd shaved off his jheri curl and which ended in a riot.
